Old Saybrook Parks add sustainable amenities

After polling the residents of Old Saybrook and finding they wanted sustainable amenities at their parks, the Town applied for and received funds from the Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP). The STEAP grant was used to install Clivus composting toilet systems in two town parks: Clark Community Park at the playing fields and playground, and Main Street Park at the pickleball courts. Kraine Meadow Park makes Capital Improvements thru LWCF Grant

The Town of Moultonborough, NH recently made much desired upgrades to its public recreation area at Kraine Meadow Park.  Since the generous donation of 16 acres of land in 1977 by Peter and Rose Kraine, the park has been transformed by playing fields,  tennis and basketball courts, volleyball pits, and children’s playgrounds.  Many of these upgrades over the years were financed in part by block grants and grants from the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
