Squam Lakes Natural Science Center

The Squam Lakes Natural Science Center (SLNSC) in Holderness, NH, was founded in 1966, and since then visitation has grown to 61,000 annually.  With hiking trails, gardens, playground, animal preserve and zoo, interactive exhibits, environmental education, and lake cruises it is easy to find something to interest everyone.  With the growth of the center the need for more restrooms emerged, but the directors wanted to maintain their message of conservation and preservation.  By installing a Clivus waste treatment system, SLNSC:  will save up to 70,000 gallons of water annually; was able to minimize landscape disruption; reduced energy needed to treat toilet waste and; will be able to replenish soils.
